Ever since my birthday in June, I've been biking all around town. To Latest Beauty headquarters, to class, to shopping, my preferred mode of transportation is my bike. I've noticed quite a few other bikers on my route and it seems that this transportation trend is on the rise. I don't know if it has to do with gas prices, being environmentally conscious, a form of exercise, getting around traffic or a combination of all of these that are causing more people to pedal. For me, it's a combo of all those for sure plus a completely selfish reason: Riding my bike makes me feel silly happy. Like little-girl-riding-her-bike happy. It's a highlight of my day. I forgot how much I liked riding my bike as a kid until I got my bike as an adult. It's pure and simple fun.
A great side effect of my bike riding is the toned legs and firmed rear that I've acquired in the past months. I can feel it in my legs when I've been biking and I like to put my gears on a higher level to increase the resistance and up the workout factor. I'll take my bike over the treadmill any day.
So I'm curious - do you bike? And if so, do you do it for fun? For exercise? For transportation? Please share! I've noticed that my fellow bikers are a friendly bunch - always exchanging smiles and hellos - it's like we're part of a club so I'd love to hear your take on bike riding.
And a poll to share more about your transportation habits - I'm curious:
