This is how I felt this morning.
Let me explain why:
Earlier this week I made an appointment for a bikini wax. Now, I like my Parissa strips just fine, but sometimes professional intervention is needed. So I made an appointment for a wax at a very nice spa, where they require your credit card number to hold your appointment because of their 24 hour cancellation notice. As in, if I need to cancel and I don't provide 24 hours notice, they charge me 100% of the procedure. You with me? So my appointment was for Friday (today), at 3:45. They called me on Wednesday to confirm that I'd be there. I confirmed. I literally planned my day around being at my appointment today.
So imagine my surprise when I get a call from the spa at 8:45 THIS morning informing me that my aesthician is out sick today and "Would they be able to reschedule me for an appointment next week?" No. They cannot. I am leaving tomorrow morning for a week long vacation in the Keys. Bikini-wearing all day, everyday. I am incredibly annoyed. Who knows if I'll be able to find a last-minute place to get waxed this afternoon? And this isn't something that you just go anywhere to get done. I understand that things happen and people get sick, BUT with all their cancellation policy rigmarole I am extremely ticked off. You'd think THEY'D owe ME 100% of what I'd have paid today. Right? I mean, at least to compensate me for the hassle of finding somewhere else to go. Or worse, if I don't find somewhere else to go.
