This weekend, something magical happened: I found my new favorite pair of shoes. And I bought them. And I got change for my $20.
Meet "Loucee," a red patent leather Mary Jane pump by Steve Madden. I first saw her on the clearance rack at
TJ Maxx, which I had been told had a great selection of designer goodies at deeply discounted prices. (It's true! Check out The Runway section in stores - they had everything from Moschino to Marc Jacobs to J Brand Jeans, and most of it was under $100. Incredible!) She caught my eye with her shiny gleam, her candy apple red color, her cute rounded toe and her perfectly placed strap - just low enough on the foot, and with a bit of overlap on the button side. The heel was just high enough to be sexy, just low enough to be comfortable. Usually I wear a size 9 shoe, but Loucee was an 8. I tried her on anyway, and it was clearly meant to be: She fit perfectly! And when I flipped her over to see if I could afford such a classy dame, I was floored: $15.99. (Just for comparison's sake, I checked it out online, and Loucee usually retails for around $84. Yowza!) Loucee and I are now very happy together, thank you. Head to your local TJ Maxx and you just might find a little true love of your own.
