Looking for a cool way to accessorize when the weather heats up? Get your Pocahontas on with these beautiful, earthy Native American pieces.

Use them to add flair to a simple summer outfit like denim shorts and a blousy peasant top or jeans and a tank. They would also go well with a sundress or the ubiquitous maxi dress in a solid color.

Essential elements of the look:

  • Turquoise
  • Silver
  • Beads
  • Fringe
  • Leather or suede
  • Feathers
Remember, avoid anything that looks fussy or overly put-together! The goal is to look pretty, easy and natural - everything you want to be this summer, yes?

I love turquoise jewelry and I had a phase I went through when I was circa 9 or 10 years old, when I fully embraced the Native American look. Moccasins, feathers, dream catchers - I couldn't enough. This post totally is making me want to embrace my inner 10-year old and make her happy with some fringed accessories!
