Styling Therapy: Multitasking hairbrushes by Goody

Whether you're struggling with dandruff, looking to prolong the life of your hair color or just hoping to add a little extra shine and smoothness to your mane, Goody has the ambitious hairbrush for you! Their new Styling Therapy line of brushes is designed to help you help your hair - simply by brushing it. You know how I love products created with the lazy girl in mind (i.e., Beauty Booties!), so I'm all over this idea. Here are the three types of Styling Therapy brushes available, and how they work:

dandruffThe reduce+dandruff brush features copper-plated bristles (copper has natural germicidal properties) to kill the fungus that causes dandruff. Goody claims their brush will kill 88% of the fungus on your head, so kiss that flaky scalp goodbye! Actually, on second thought, don't kiss it. That's kind of gross, not to mention impossible.

shinePersonally, I'm most excited about this add+shine brush, which has jojoba oil infused in its cushion pad and bristles in order to increase your hair's shininess with every stroke. Apparently the oil smooths your hair's gnarly, ragged cuticles and makes the hair "lay down," resulting in a smoother look. Perfect for my long hair!

colorFinally, this protect+color brush, available for Blonde, Brown and Red hair, has a color-preserving additive called Questamide in its bristles, which locks in both color and moisture. The brush actually features two different kinds of bristles, nylon ball-tipped ones and boar bristles infused with Questamide, and they work in tandem (with the ball-tipped bristles penetrating hair and the boar bristles dispensing the color-saving substance) to keep your color from fading prematurely.

I absolutely love the idea of a multitasking brush, and considering my complete dearth of hair products (I own nothing beyond shampoo and conditioner - not even hairspray), this sounds like a completely non-intimidating way to begin to broaden my hair care horizons. Plus, they're by Goody, so they're super cheap - around $13, and available pretty much everywhere. And the website has a reassuring little tutorial on the scientific reasons why each of the brushes work for all you skeptics out there, so there's really no reason not to give one a try!

I have been wanting to try the jojoba oil brush for forever now - I keep seeing advertisements but I haven't bought it yet....
