Ok, after looking at some of the "styles" from Lauren Conrad’s new line that debuted during LA Fashion Week yesterday, I started thinking about some "don’ts" that keep popping up.  Yes, Lauren’s line is one of them…

Don’t: wear a tent

I’ve already talked before about how the trend as of late is all about accentuating your feminity.  Cinched waists are being seen all over and the baggy fashions are taking a back seat to a more structured look.  So why would Lauren design a tent-like dress?  This would look adorable on Jessica Alba right about now.  Is Lauren trying to get the rumor mill going?  Anyway, the point of all this is:  Don’t wear tents.  Do take pride in your hourglass shape - invest in a cute belt to reel in any billowy dresses you may have from last season.

Don’t: succumb to open-toed boots

Thank you to Stephanie and Selena for reminding me of this awful trend.  I think I tried to block it out.  They just look…wrong.  And boots are for "closed-toe" weather.  This fashion is very confused.  It doesn’t know what it is supposed to be doing.  Katie was seen wearing these back in October, so hopefully she’s figured out that these are a "don’t" by now.  It’s worth driving the point home though so that the warmth of spring doesn’t tempt you into experimenting with the open-toed craziness.

Don’t: wear "leather" leggings

Some irresponsible stars have been seen stepping out in this look and confusing America about the trendiness of it.  Sure, Sarah Jessica and Rhianna may look quasi-cool sporting a pair of pleather leggings but I assure you, they are about the only ones who can (almost) get away with them.  You can be daring and test them out but I would not recommend it.  I envision many a Catwoman joke at your expense…unless you’re into that kind of thing…
