Have any celeb ensembles caught your eye lately? Over the course of my daily browsing through every fashion, beauty and celebrity blog known to woman, a couple of unusual outfits piqued my interest this week. First up, Eva Green.

eva

Eva showed up at a movie premiere wearing this empire waist dress with its fitted sapphire satin skirt and embroidered detail at the bust. Her shoes look a bit like oxford-style pumps and I love their deep ruby shade; plus, I adore how her only accessory is a slim red clutch, with nary a lick of jewelry. I’m also a fan of her exotic, classic-Hollywood-meets-European-sophisticate hair and makeup, from those glossy raven ringlets to her matching scarlet lips and nails. She reminds me of a 21st century Snow White! I imagine that some fashion pundits might not be a fan of this look, but I think it’s beautiful.

katie

Katie Holmes didn’t fare quite as well with this ivory and black lace jumpsuit that she wore to the opening night festivities of her new Broadway play. While we love to keep an eye on Katie here at LatestBeauty, frequently giving her props for her willingness to experiment with fashion, this look is simply not flattering. There is no line or flow to this outfit; nothing meshes! The jumpsuit fits awkwardly and tapers at the ankle, creating a strange, MC Hammer-ish billowing pants effect, and the romantic black lace peeping out at the top seems out of place. Her gold necklace and bracelet are overwhelmed by and lost under the lace, and the black heels and clutch do little to add interest. Even her hair and makeup are blah; it looks like she simply brushed through her crop and swiped on some berry lipstick on her way out the door. Also, I think the look ages her; she appears at least a decade older than her 29 years. Have a little fun with it, Katie!
